Time to give thanks

The month of  November seems to be the time that everyone "gives thanks" for the various blessings in their life...i.e.  job, family, friends...etc., so I decided that I should do the same. To begin, I have so many blessings in my life, probably more than someone like me deserves. As I look back at my life, it's evident that so many people have made an impact on me. Many of those people are still in my life, some have passed on, some have moved away and others I lost contact with over the years. There are certain family members that I have always admired and looked up to, many of my friends have served as inspiration to me, most without even knowing they were doing so. The more I reflect on everything that has happened to me in just the last 7 years, the more thankful I am. First of all my brother and sisters, they have endured so much after my accident. My long term outlook didn't look very promising, and I cant even imagine the worries and heartache they must have went through during that time, wondering if they were going to lose their "baby brother" (as they so often like to point out). As I slowly began to rebuild my life, they were there to help me. Doctors visits, cooking cleaning, and making sure I had everything I needed. My nephews Adam, Jason and James, gave up part of their own life to share time staying with me, not many teens would have done this. My niece Tiffany, she has done so much for me as well, she spent a many sleepless nights with me and every time I needed her in the middle of the night, she never complained, she always answered with "Uncle Bill, are you ok?" and "what can I do to help?". In time, I got better, regaining my independence and being able to live alone and carry on with my life. My buddy Tommy Hunt has been there since day 1 of my accident. He is the only one of my friends that stayed in contact on a regular basis, the only one that came to visit with any regularity, he went above and beyond to help me more than a few times. My cousin Wendy would send me e-mails checking on me and always having an encouraging word or two, anyone that knows me, knows that she is my favorite female singer ever...I put her in the category with Martina Mcbride and Vestal Goodman as being just an awesome vocalist. She came to visit one time and asked me to help her finish writing a song she was stuck on, I consider her a phenomenal writer, so to be asked to help her, was and still is a huge honor to me.( she recorded the song and I still love to throw the CD in and listen to it.) In the seven years that have passed, I am so thankful to be where I'm at today. As I write this on the day before Thanksgiving, I have a smile on my face and joy in my heart. So I guess its time to give thanks...I am thankful for my family....I am thankful to have so many good friends, I am thankful for each and every person on my friends list, because at some time in my life, we have interacted and you have left  an impression on me. I am thankful to have an old buddy who comes to my house on a regular basis, we have a lot of laughs together talking about the stupid stuff we all did as teenagers....I am thankful to have a roof over my head and food in my pantry and be able to enjoy certain luxuries in life...and I am very thankful to reconnect with a certain someone who is willing to come enjoy my boredom and go to the top of a mountain and enjoy an amazing sunset with me...In general, I may be the most thankful person in the world, because my family, my friends, and all that I have, I probably don't deserve. So I give thanks and not just on this day, but I am thankful every day. So to all that read this, I wish this upon you from the bottom of my heart...Joy, Good Fortune and Good Health...til next time...Peace...Love and Happiness.
